Planet Coaster - Volvara

The brainchild of the curious twisted mind of entrepreneur Lysander Cogsmith, Volvara is a is a towering air fortress equipped with an adjustable plasma cannon, levitating through the use of many moving pillars with powerful propellors. The inner machinery is largely disguised by an eclectic mix of renaissance and Victorian gothic revival architecture - but the lower half of the immense structure, which Lysander cheaped out on, is a warbled mess of pipes and planks. As for how this behemoth can possibly stay afloat - Lysander has as much contempt for the laws of physics as he does for the lives of the Victorian proletariat that had to construct this monstrosity under harsh weather conditions and turbulence.

...in the end though, it's difficult to pay the bills with just a flying fortification. Thus, Lysander installed an Intamin Megacoaster making its way around the island. Given the unique setting, people would be willing to pay a hefty price, he reasoned - which should be able to finance the costly upkeep of the castle. Wether it'll be a success or not, we'll see. But anyway, here's Volvara.



In all seriousness, I'm glad to finally put out this video. I've worked on the finishing touches on the castle in the past few weeks, and tried my hardest to do the 2+ year build justice with this video. I'll admit it's a bit cheesy with all the clouds added in post, but this is how I imagined Volvara from the start. Two years ago I had no idea if it'd ever be possible to convincingly picture the castle flying through the clouds - but now with Reshade's adaptive fog I think the effect turned out decent enough.

...now to finish Jägerhorn.
