As we know, a band is a group of individuals working together with a goal to express & create. However, I’ve seen that goal hindered without cohesiveness, synergy OR the ‘team’ mentality within its ranks. On the contrary bands who have established these benefits AND vested themselves in a VISION for the band often move faster, are more artistically satisfied & undoubtedly elevate their artform to new levels. These are the subtleties that separate good bands from GREAT bands & this is the ethos that comes to mind when I ponder the career of SA’s, Memory of a Melody . The band which began its journey in 2008 rose to prominence regionally with their authentic blend of heavy rock, melodic choruses, elaborate sonic landscapes & brutal voices. Their debut, ‘Things That Make You Scream’ produced by mastermind Bryan Scott (of The Union Underground) took them to BIG stages at The Oyster Bake, RiverCity Rockfest & Rocklahoma & helped them establish a fanbase that still yearns for more. Now after a lengthy hiatus, MOAM has returned STRONGER than EVER: line-up intact, vision re-established & the creative juices assuredly flowing; so much so, that since the Fall of 2024 the band has released 7 AMAZING singles to include: ‘The Veil’, ‘Serpent’, ‘Confession’ & ‘Valves & Chambers’ to name a select few. MOAM is BACK (& in a BIG way), so I knew it was time to reconnect with the band & fill in the gaps. SO, on December 6th, 2025, the band graciously visited the RMW Studio to discuss it ALL. In the interview below you will see us chat about the following: the band’s formative years (& early success), the hiatus (& return), writing new music, official releases, performing at a high level, writing, social media & plans for 2026. To ALL my Familia outside of Texas – take a moment to really dig in, learn & listen. I KNOW MOAM is not only a band that will fit into your musical range, but a band that you will TRULY enjoy. To Mario, Wade, Joel & Roel – THANK YOU for giving our cameras your unfiltered & genuine thoughts on life, music & career. We will do it again!
