Several hundred have already been flagged since the campaign started. Officials have warned that if Pakistan's wall against terrorism is breached, the fire will spread far beyond its borders. But Islamabad's push for tighter online regulation has sparked criticism from free-speech advocates. With strong ties to Iran and a vocal stance against Israeli strikes on Gaza, Pakistan is also using its media diplomacy to project stability. It is deepening cooperation with partners like Turkiye to counter extremist narratives. But can Islamabad keep pace with the speed and reach of digital disinformation in a region already on edge?
