Serral vs. Clem Grand Finals in SC2's BIGGEST TOURNAMENT EVER

The Esports World Cup Featured StarCraft 2's biggest ever prize pool, sitting at a WHOPPING $1,000,000. Yes that's ONE MILLION DOLLARS. First prize takes home $400,000 with second place taking home $150,000. As this was the finals, this meant that this matchup between these two was effectively a $250,000 series. An absolutely STAGGERING best of 9 Zerg vs. Terran series with the title of World Champion for StarCraft 2 on the line.

Going into this tournament, Serral had swept the two previous offline international tournaments with a staggering 43-3 map score, winning both events and, in many people's minds, solidifying him as the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time). However, one of Serral's previous defeats had come at the hands of the speedy young Frenchman Clem at DreamHack Atlanta, as he displayed (IMO) the highest level Terran play of any Terran to that point to defeat Serral, and eventually Dark, to claim his first ever Offline Premier tournament victory.

With the biggest tournament in StarCraft 2's long and storied 14 year history coming up, it was obvious that both players would be bringing out their absolute best strategies and preparation for the Grand Finals as both of them had already cut a bloody swath through their opponent's to get there.
