This is the second release in our new Psalms Unshaken series, where the ancient words of Tehillim (Psalms) rise again through faith-fueled rock in the signature sound of Guardian of Israel.

Psalm 12 is a cry from the heart of a righteous remnant. David looks upon a generation collapsing into lies, flattery, and double-hearted speech. The faithful vanish. The wicked boast, “Our lips are our own, who is lord over us?” It is a psalm born in the age of corruption, where truth is trampled and deception reigns.

Yet into this darkness, the voice of the Holy One breaks through:
“Because the oppressed are plundered… Now I will arise, says Adonai.”
And in the center of the psalm, the flame of hope burns brightest:

“Imrot Adonai imrot tehorot;
kesef tzaruf ba’alil la’aretz —
mezukkak shiv’atayim.”
“The words of the L-rd are pure words, like silver refined in the furnace, purified seven times.”

These Hebrew lines form the chorus of this song, proclaiming that when every human voice is false, the voice of the L-rd remains unshaken, unchanging, and pure.

The English verses trace the psalm’s movement:
from vanishing righteousness,
to the arrogance of the wicked,
to the rising of Adonai in justice,
to His protection over those who cry to Him.

Musically, this piece leans into the tension of the text: dark drones, gritty guitars, minor-key urgency, and a molten, triumphant chorus mirroring silver refined in a divine forge. Short electric-guitar solos strike like bursts of fire between the psalm’s movements.

Our prayer is that this song strengthens those who feel surrounded by deception and gives courage to all who cling to the unshakable truth of the Holy One. His words remain pure. His justice will rise. He will guard His people forever.
