Bikepacking the Chief Ladiga and Silver Comet Trail December 2018

For Marianne's birthday we decided to take our bikes and ride the Ladiga Trail and Silver Comet Trail from our house to Smyrna, Ga. We intended to leave on that Thursday, but rain and thunderstorms delayed us until Friday at about 10. We set out from our front door and rode through the JSU campus until we met the trail, and then rode 40 miles across plains and mountains until we arrived in Cedartown, Ga. well after darkness fell. We stayed in a hotel that night and ate at Wafflehouse for dinner. Part 2 will be day 2!

Packs: Ortlieb Backrollers on an REI rack, waterproof backpack, Osprey Lumina, Sea to Summit 20l Drybags
Camp stuff: Mountain House food, Jetboil MicroMo, North Face Stormbreak Tent, Sea to summit and Koppen Sleeping bags, Thermarest Pads, etc.
