The Secret Gardens Monument in Jamaica has run out of space

In just over a decade after it was established, the Secret Gardens Monument also known as the crying child monument in downtown Kingston has run out of space to record the names of Jamaica's children k!led under violent and trag!c circumstances.

The monument located at the intersection of Church and Tower streets almost in the heart of downtown bears a sculpture of a child crying, and on the four sides of its black square base, the names of the children are etched.

The reality, which is a very sad reality is that the monument which was erected in 2008 now has more than 1,000 names etched into its plinth
