How to perform a buckling analysis with thermal expansion in ANSYS Workbench Mechanical

Описание к видео How to perform a buckling analysis with thermal expansion in ANSYS Workbench Mechanical

When thermal expansion causes compressive stresses, structural buckling can result. This video explores three ways to analyze buckling caused by thermal expansion, using a simple model: (1) Linear-based Eigenvalue Buckling Analysis, (2) Nonlinear Buckling with Static Analysis, and (3) Nonlinear-based Eigenvalue Buckling Analysis.
Unlike linear-based eigenvalue buckling, the nonlinear-based eigenvalue buckling approach requires at least one load in the buckling analysis, and the resulting load multipliers scale the load applied in the buckling analysis only. Ultimate buckling temperature comes from the temperature applied in the nonlinear static analysis plus the scaled temperature change in the eigenvalue analysis.
This video illustrates with a temperature load in a static structure.
