I tend to look beyond the actual design and fit of garments when I consult my clients on style. Over the years, even as children, we build so many, actually too many beliefs on how one should dress. Our culture, our parents, our friends, our peers and then the powerful ones, they all having something to say on how we dress. But should they? Or should we listen to them? Do we even realise we are influenced by the close, the many and the powerful?

As promised in my video, I will help you identify your limiting beliefs. You can do that by asking yourself some questions: why you do not wear a particular garment, or why you do not wear it in a certain shape of form or styled with another garment or why you do not wear it at a certain event. I will be happy to see you list your limiting beliefs one by one. This is the first step. The second one is to refute the limiting beliefs, one step at a time.

I’ll discuss the subtle ways these groups : the close (those around us), the many (societal norms), and the powerful (influencers and celebrities), impact what we wear, why we often conform to these influences, and how we can break free from these pressures to create a wardrobe that truly reflects who we are.
