Finally, I was able to do the first exercise in the KnitcrateDyer Supplier "Dive into Dyeing" course. It was harder than I thought getting the Jacquard Acid Dyes into a 1% stock solution, preparing the yarn (Dyer Supplier Sport Weight Super Wash 100% Merino), getting all of my safety items in place, and preparing the fifteen containers to do the exercise. It took longer than expected and I didn't do such a good job in making my first stock solution which was yellow. So my colors did not come out like Rebecca of Chemknits did. It was fun though and I have some idea of what can be done with just the three primary colors of Jacquard Acid dyes Fire Red, Brilliant Blue and Bright Yellow. I am going to use the results in some mini weavings so stay tuned!
