Snohomish County Council approves 4% property tax hike despite public opposition

Property owners in Snohomish County could see a slight increase in their tax bills after the county council passed a 4% increase over the next two years.

The increase would only apply to the county’s portion of property tax bills and could cost the average homeowner in Snohomish County about an extra $12-13 annually.

Snohomish County Council Member Nate Nehring opposed the increase, sharing that the average property tax bill for Snohomish County families already hovers around over $5,000.
