The Hadeda Ibis (Bostrychia hagedash) also spelt Hadada, is one of the more common birds found throughout South Africa. It is normally associated with water, but has adapted to a variety of environments, and is very common in suburban areas.

The bird call of the Hadeda is something everyone knows and has heard. Many people regard it as the most annoying bird call of all the birds in South Africa.
