Today we are going to go over how to play Tetherball.

Rules:

Newcomer serves, or you can play rock paper scissors to see who serves.

· Only two players allowed on the court, one on each side of the line.
· Ball is served (hit) with an open or closed hand.
· The player who winds the rope completely around the pole in his/her direction is the winner.
· You cannot win on a serve alone, the receiver must have hit the ball at least once.
· A player who wins 3 consecutive games in a row goes to the end of the line.
· The “judge” is the first person or two people in line. Anyone trying to influence the judge goes to the end of the line.
· If the game is lasting a long time, the judge may call a 25-strike rule, where players hit the ball a total of 25 times, after the 25th hit, the person who has the rope twister in their direction is declared the winner.

· If a player does one of the following things, he/she is out:
o Hitting the ball with any part of the body other than the hand.
o Holding or catching the ball during play, other than a serve.
o Touching the pole with any one part of your body.
o Hitting or catching (touching) the rope.
o Stepping onto the opponent’s side of the court.
o Double hit the ball – hit the ball twice before it goes to the other side.
