Answer: Both Gantt charts and PERT charts are tools to visualize projects for the individual tasks associated they are associated with. The key difference between the two charts is as described below:
A Gantt chart is a bar chart that lays out linearly the project tasks and timeline. The y-axis is consists of individual tasks and the x-axis represents the timeline. Gantt charts are used for improving efficiencies and optimizing time, as the project managers or planners can adjust the tasks in the chart as the project progresses to keep track of it to ensure on-time delivery.
A PERT (Programme Evaluation and Review Technique) chart, on the other hand, is a flow chart or network diagram which displays the project tasks in separate boxes and connects them with arrows within them to show the task dependencies within the network.
