Brian: How's it going Brian here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2019 Buick Enclave, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness. There's a couple things that I really like about this wiring and one of them is whenever we're not using it, it's going to be completely hidden, and that's because our Enclave actually has a removable panel. It simply just drops down and out of the way. Now you can see our wiring is easily reachable and we're ready to tow our trailer. And two is the fact that it simply just plugs right into your factory harness.
That's going to make it very reliable and very easy, since you're not going to have to worry about splicing into any wires or running any additional wires. Our trailer wiring is going to provide us with the necessary lighting functions to not only remain safe, but legal as well. And since it puts out a maximum amperage of 7.5 amps per circuit, it's not only going to allow us to run LEDs, but our traditional style incandescent balls as well. Now it is going to come with a nice, heavy-duty rubber cap, and that's going to help keep all of our terminals protected when we're not using our wiring. And to go a step further to help keep them protected even more, I do recommend every now and again putting some dielectric grease on them. And as I mentioned earlier, it's going to be really easy to get installed.
It shouldn't take up a lot of your time. Speaking of which, let's go ahead and put it on together now.To begin our installation, we're first going to need to locate our vehicle's plug, which is right here on the driver's side. Now for video purposes so you can actually see what we're doing a lot easier, I had removed the rear fascia, but this can be done fairly easily with everything still in place; so that's something you don't need to worry about doing, taking the whole fascia off just to hook your wiring up. Our connector is going to have a dummy plug, if you will, on it to help keep it protected, and we're going to need to take this cap off. So to do that, we'll take this red tab, push it outward, and then underneath it there'll be a black tab you can push in and then the two simply just pull apart.
Now we can grab our new wiring and plug it in. Now before we do that, I like to use a little dielectric grease, just smear it over the terminals just to help keep everything protected. Then this will simply just plug right in.Now I'm going to use the included self-tapping screw to secure our ground wire here. Now you just want to make sure to secure this to a clean, solid piece of metal. The spot that I've chosen is just down here, and you can go ahead and run that down.
Now I just went ahead and bundled up our extra wiring and secured it using a couple of zip ties, and then ran it down over to our bracket where it's going to be mounted. Now this little bracket does not come included. However, if you want to set yours up like this, you can find these here at etrailer.com.Now it's always a good idea, once everything is hooked up and connected, to check your wiring to make sure it works properly. So I'm going to go ahead and use my left turn, my right turn, my brake lights, and my running lights. And that'll finish up our look at and our installation of the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness on our 2019 Buick Enclave.
