The best fiddlers on the planet are in iFiddle Magazine. That's not an overstatement, it is a fact and I'm humbled by it. iFiddle Magazine was started by me because when I started playing fiddle there was only one magazine that was devoted to fiddlers. My concept was to have an electronic digital magazine that would allow videos right inside the magazine.

I didn't have a team of writers and staff to research and write articles, do interviews and everything else that goes with having a full blown magazine. I did the next best thing. I did it myself. All the design work (I'm not a designer or graphic artist) articles, interviews, layout, everything! And I did this every month for over a year.

In June 2014 I went to Methodist hospital in Houston for open heart surgery, putting me out of commission for a while. (that's a story for another time). The thing is, the magazine almost fell apart.

During the next few months as I recovered I was able to put together the magazine you see in the format it is now. Many world class fiddlers have helped me keep it going, like Darol Anger, Tom Morley, Bruce Molsky, Mitch Reed and others.

I continued publishing monthly but the stress was getting high. I decided to start publishing quarterly after the January 2017 issue.

So that's where iFiddle Magazine is today. Thanks to all the subscribers and folks that help keep iFiddle going. It is truly a labor of love.

As I continue to try and give you the best fiddlers and teachers remember what Colorado fiddler Vi Wickam says: "Keep Calm and Fiddle On".
