A band camp workshop held at the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music over the school holidays encouraged children to learn through play on handmade instruments.

One of the weird and wonderful creations by Jon Madin is the 'farty foot pumper'.

It's designed to be easily operated by kids and not only does it make a tune, it also gets a laugh whenever a rubber glove pops.
