Can Muslim celebrate Independence Day? | The Islamic Ruling Regarding Celebrating Independence Day

Assalamu Alikum Everyone!
There are many people who would say that celebrating independence day in Islam is kind of bidath. Its kind of innovation or addition in to the dean. And we are not suppose to add or innovate any thing new into the Islam.

Now with regards to bidath if you read the Hadith of holy prophet saw in sunan Ibn Majah and sunan Abu Dawood then with bidath is addition or innovating new thing into the Islam considering that things as a part of Islam let me just read that Hadith for you the holy prophet (SAW) saying!

“if any one introduces into this affairs of ours (i.e. Islam) anything which does not belong to it, it is rejected.

In the same sense joining non Muslims in their religious activities are resembling or imitating in them in their religious activities can come under the category of matters that are not allowed in Islam. For example celebrating Christmas , holy or Diwali and over here the Hadith of Holy Prophet SAWW fits very well.

The Prophet Saw Said

“Whoever imitates a people is one of them”.
