Melty Blood: Actress Again [PS2] - play as G Akiha

Описание к видео Melty Blood: Actress Again [PS2] - play as G Akiha

This is an incomplete play-through of Arcade mode using G Akiha / Giant Akiha in the PS2 version of Melty Blood: Actress Again. Read on below for more information...

G Akiha is the Stage 8 opponent in the Bosh Rush mode. She is an unplayable character.

===== ABOUT G AKIHA =====
Storyline-wise, she is the version of Akiha who appears in a nightmare/dream of Shiki Tohno.

Gameplay-wise, G Akiha is basically another "giant" boss character in Melty Blood... obviously, her gameplay is completely different to the regular characters. She has quite a number of basics and specials as well as two supers, which makes for a really impressive unplayable character.

In Actress Again, she is completely different to her Re-ACT counterpart - basically a new character. She is much less like Apocalypse in this version. Here is the information on her, as follows:

---- Most interestingly, she has three "special moves" which are not intended to be used during a fight, these moves are her: 1) 1st Round KO sequence; 2) Lose sequence; and 3) Win pose. You can see them in the demonstration starting at 14:56 in the video.

Performing all three of these moves will result in her being unable to regain control.

---- On the character select screen, her cursor icon slot is in the same place as Akiha, which is fitting.

---- On the character select screen, she does not have an image portrait nor a name.

---- She only has the one colour palette you see in the video. When selecting her colour on the character select screen, the boxes are all white, but this doesn't mean anything.

---- She has no image portrait on the map/route screen.

---- Interestingly, on the character select screen when you select/confirm her and the Style select panel comes up, the Eclipse style mode is automatically highlighted and you cannot change it. This suggests that she may have been planned to be made a playable character.

---- Force-selecting her with the Full Moon and Half Moon styles results in her not showing up at all on the fight screen.

---- Force-selecting her with the Crescent Moon Style results in loss of some moves and different command motions for some moves.

---- She has no portrait image on the winning screen. Sometimes she uses quotes and voices of someone else (I forgot).

---- She cannot dash.

---- She cannot jump.

---- She cannot be stunned when she is attacking. She can be stunned when not attacking.

---- Obviously because she is not meant to appear on any other stage background, you can see the cut-off point of the bottom of her sprite. (her stage background has a layer which covers this).

---- If the opponent moves in close just past center of her face, her closest eye to you looks at the opponent. This is something you may have missed.

---- In gameplay, she can walk through her opponent.

---- In gameplay, she can block, but it uses the wrong animations.

---- She has a Time Over and another Win Pose that cannot seem to be done as special moves.

---- If you go into her Command List, it's blank. You can see this near the end of the video.

---- If you play through single-player Arcade mode with her, the game will always halt at the pre-fight scenes on the stages where a dialogue conversation with the opponent would occur. This is due to G Akiha having no storyline interaction dialogues of her own.

---- Completing the game with her results in no ending. It just goes into a black screen and freezes.

===== ABOUT MELTY BLOOD AA =====
Melty Blood started off as a doujin game on the PC which was released back in 2002... it was basically a spin-off game of the visual novel Tsukihime. Therefore obviously, the game contains characters and story elements from the novel. The game has evolved a lot since then, so much that the later games saw release on the Arcade and PS2 platforms. In 2016, a Steam version of Current Code was released.

The gameplay of Melty Blood is all about the chain combos and pure rushdown... if you want to play this competitively then your reaction time and combo'ing ability better be up to scratch.
