Szwedzi nazywają wyspę Olandię krainą słońca i wiatru. Nic więc dziwnego, że postawiono na niej około tysiąca wiatraków. Były to głównie wiatraki typu koźlak, ale budowano również wiatraki typu holenderskiego. Do dziś pozostało 400 koźlaków i kilkadziesiąt wiatraków typu holenderskiego. Jeden z nich jest największym wiatrakiem holenderskim w całej Skandynawii.

The Swedes call the island of Öland the land of sun and wind. It is no wonder that about a thousand windmills were built there. They were mainly post mills, but Dutch-type windmills were also built. There are 400 post mills and several dozen Dutch-type windmills left today. One of them is the largest Dutch windmill in all of Scandinavia.
