Lahore and eastern Punjab are facing a massive flood emergency as the Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers overflow. As of 29 August 2025, nearly 250,000 people have been relocated and around 1.2 million affected, with over 1,400 villages impacted. In Lahore, floodwaters have reached localities including Shafiqabad, Farrukhabad, Tallat Park, Theme Park, and Park View City — though early relocation and strong embankments have helped safeguard residents.
