I'm removing the subframe with engine/trans still on it. Pretty simple and straight forward except for one rusty bolt. The cage didn't break loose. It just distorted enough to allow the nut to spin. In hindsight what I should have tried is this.... Before applying enough force to damage the cage, use a torch to heat the top end of the bolt so it expands enough to break the rust loose of the nut. Let it cool and then remove like a normal bolt. That should have done the trick from the get-go. Experience is the best teacher.
