Описание к видео How Inheritance Works in Italy (With or Without a Will)

🔍 Has someone passed away and you don't know where to start?

In this short video, I’ll explain in a simple and clear way how to calculate the inheritance shares that go to the closest relatives of the deceased (de cuius),
both in cases of intestate succession (no will) and testate succession (with a will).

📚 What you'll learn
✔️ What shares the law reserves for family members (especially children) when there is no will
✔️ Who the forced heirs (legittimari) are, and what they’re entitled to — spouse, children (and their descendants), and parents (and their ascendants)
✔️ What the freely disposable share is, and how it can be assigned in a will
✔️ How degrees of kinship are calculated under Italian law

⚠️ This video is not exhaustive:
We won’t cover special cases—like when the heirs include the maternal grandmother, full siblings, and half-siblings all at once.
Still, it’s a great starting point to help you understand the basics!
