Mrs. Wilson’s Knitting Circle: Knitting Magazines in the Early 20th Century - Eleanor Reed

Описание к видео Mrs. Wilson’s Knitting Circle: Knitting Magazines in the Early 20th Century - Eleanor Reed

British magazine The Girl’s Own Paper joined nationwide campaigns calling knitters to arms, urging its readers to knit for soldiers at the front, in prisoner of war camps and in hospitals. But as this publication shows, knitting for the troops was just one act of knitters’ war service. Join Dr. Eleanor Reed, scholar and expert on 20th Century domestic magazines, as she explores knitting and needlework from 1914-1918.

Come do your bit - knit! Just as in WWI, knitting is a way to share comfort and bring a community of friends together to talk, laugh and create. Whether just starting out or an expert able to share your knowledge, join us. BYONY (bring your own needles and yarn). Your own projects are welcome!
