The legenday Big 89 WLS, Chicago, did something really cool for fans of the station on July 26, 2025. They turned back the dial and celebrated the station's rich Top 40 legacy with the people who lived it.

“WLS Unwound: Personalities of the MusicRadio Years” brought together some of the most iconic names from the station’s historic Top 40 era.

Among the guests were Tommy Edwards, Chuck Knapp, Catherine Johns, Chuck Buell, and Jim Kerr. Names that defined an era when WLS was branded as “The Rock of Chicago” and served as the soundtrack of the Midwest.
