Lake Caldonazzo is located in Valsugana, a few kilometers from Lake Levico. With its 5.4 km² it is the largest lake belonging entirely to Trentino. It has an average depth of 26.5 meters and, thanks to the favorable climatic conditions and the mild temperatures of its waters which vary from 18° to 24°C, bathing is usually possible from May to the end of September. Also thanks to its temperatures, Lake Caldonazzo is considered one of the warmest lakes in Europe. Along the shores there are free beaches and equipped bathing establishments. On the shores of the lake are the towns of Caldonazzo, Calceranica al lago and Tenna.

Lake Caldonazzo is a real natural gym, ideal for practicing various sports such as sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, rowing and diving, and it is also the only lake in the region where it is possible to practice water skiing . In summer it often hosts sporting events with national and international athletes. Those who are fond of fishing will find a large variety of fish such as trout, rudd, carp, sunfish and tench.

In San Cristoforo, for four-legged friends, there is the beach for dogs "Bau Beach". The use of a leash is mandatory both in and out of the water.

Also in the year 2023, Lake Caldonazzo was awarded the important Blue Flag award for the healthiness of the waters, attention to the environment and sustainable services.
