Описание к видео NIAGARA FALLS State Park USA & CANADA Sides | Day Trip To Niagara Falls 🇺🇸🇨🇦

Can you imagine being one of the first recorded explorers to discover a natural wonder such as Niagara Falls? While Native Americans were likely the first to see and experience the awe-inspiring scene that has since captured the attention of millions of visitors worldwide, many historical accounts credit expeditions during the 1600’s with reports of the Falls.

In 1604, French explorer and cartographer Samuel de Champlain is said to have written about the Falls from reports of indigenous people, and a French priest named Father Louis Hennepin wrote a descriptive first-hand account of the powerful setting in his book A New Discovery in 1678.
As a fellow writer, I understand the desire to share this beauty of God’s design with others, especially as I found myself mesmerized by the sight on a crisp September day on a recent visit with extended family. We met up in Buffalo, New York and gathered in a local Airbnb before setting out to explore the area.

Though Niagara Falls is not the tallest waterfall in the world, Niagarafallsusa.com tells us the beauty comes from its height and the incredible volume of water running over the Falls at a given time. The website goes on to give a few fun facts about the flow and history of the region, noting that Niagara Falls State Park is the oldest state park in America, established in 1885 as the Niagara Reservation. And on a clear Tuesday morning with a hint of autumn in the air, my family and I joined the ranks of over 8 million visitors who explore the Park annually to see the three waterfalls, which – from largest to smallest are Horseshoe Falls (also known as the Canadian Falls), American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls.

One of our first stops included the observation deck and a Maid of the Mist Boat Tour.
The experience brought back a faint memory of a younger me – perhaps 5 or 6 at the time – and my little three-year-old sister, as we stood on a similar deck sprayed with the mist of roaring Falls. Back then, the trash bag like ponchos were black if my brief recollection serves me right. Now, they are bolder, and brighter, along with the intense thrill of being up close to this raging flow of nature and sharing it with a new generation.

It made me glad we chose the Falls as a sort of last-minute getaway destination. Though the trip had been planned for a while, the location changed several times due to unexpected circumstances. And when my sister mentioned Niagara as an option, it immediately felt right. We spent the day exploring both the US and Canadian sides, eating lunch at a waterfront restaurant with formal gardens and stopping for a fun photo op above the international boundary line.
I got to see afternoon sunlight bounce across the emerald water at different angles during our stay, and I enjoyed the view at every turn.

When I think back to the early explorers and their reports of this new discovery, I can’t help but think they would agree with the old adage that says – A picture is worth a thousand words. Telling about an experience is incredible, but nothing can match seeing it in action. There is always more to a story when it’s up close and personal, and like we sometimes say here in the South – it’s better felt than telt.

If you’ve been to the Falls, let me know how it went – and if not, here’s your encouragement to book a trip very soon!
