San Francisco, CA– On October 5, 2015, Psycherelics Productions launched a Kickstarter campaign for “Slip Inside This House,” a documentary about the life of Tommy Hall of The 13th Floor Elevators.

Existing from 1965 to 1969, the legendary 13th Floor Elevators was the first psychedelic band in history. "We’re still basking in the afterglow" (Pitchfork). According to Tommy Hall, "We represented the psychedelic way that you get ideas and advance your consciousness" (L.A. Record). The band is cited as a heavy influence for generations of musicians.

The documentary is about Tommy Hall, visionary co-founder of the band, jug player of electrifying sound, high-minded songwriter, and now, a cultural relic of a revolution in music. For decades, he has led a reclusive existence, similar to that of a solitary monk, locked away in a San Francisco hotel in a book-crowded room, working on the "mathematical expressions of the universe", a “quasi material abstraction” (the Austin Chronicle). He grants few interviews, but for the first time ever, he will emerge from myth and legend to give his life story.

The film will cover his childhood, his days as a student at the University of Texas in the 60s, his studies in the philosophies in consciousness and cosmic human experience, the inspiration behind his art, the forming of The 13th Floor Elevators, and aspects of The Design, his current work.

The movie will consist of interviews with Tommy Hall, members of The 13th Floor Elevators, his contemporaries, and his closest relatives, and vintage never-before-seen archival and contemporary photographs from various periods of Tommy Hall's life. Also of note, Tommy Hall has re-recorded three of his old songs to be used in the soundtrack, and as well, he is contributing several new musical compositions.
