Unboxing & Overview: Gigabyte B650I AX AM5 ITX Motherboard

UPDATE AS OF AUGUST 2024: This video was published before 64GB DDR5 memory modules were available - according to the Gigabyte specs page, this motherboard now supports up to 128GB of RAM with 2x 64GB DDR5 memory modules. In addition, "Zen 5" Ryzen 9000 series processors and "Zen 4" Ryzen 8000 APUs are now supported with a BIOS update that is available for download from Gigabyte's official website.

AMD's Ryzen 7000 series of processors on the AM5 platform have been with us for some time now, having been launched back in September 2022. Fast forward to today, AMD's Ryzen 8000 series of APUs have hit the shelves since January 2024, and the next generation of Zen 5 processors, likely marketed as the Ryzen 9000 series, are expected to launch towards the end of 2024 or early 2025.

In view of the AM5 platform's longevity, no surprises here that motherboard manufacturers have still been releasing new AM5 product offerings. For today's video, ALKtech checks out an entry-level ITX motherboard offering sporting AMD's B650 chipset - the Gigabyte B650I AX.
