The Tikfaw 200 is a poker run on boats in Louisiana. 🚤 A poker run is where people who join and pay go from bar to bar collecting poker cards. 🃏 When they get to the last bar, the sixth one, everyone turns their cards in. Whoever has the highest hand wins the pot, prizes, or whatever they all bet. 🏆 Everyone is encouraged to make it a party at each stop, so you either follow the players or meet them at some of the stops. 🎉 This event is done on boats, so you get to see some amazing boats out there. 🛥️ Last year was my first time attending this event. This year, my brother invited me again and asked me to stay with him and some friends. I was super excited. 🥳 The people who we stayed with last year are amazing people and they were having us back this year. So we loaded up and took off on Friday. As we left Houston, it was raining heavily and there was flooding everywhere on our way out. We stopped at the casino for a little while before making it to our friends' home. We all got to catch up and meet new people as well. We woke up later than we wanted to, but that did not deter us. We loaded up and went to the dock. One of our friends, who had driven his boat all the way to Louisiana, put his boat in, and then one of his fuel pumps went out. He tried replacing it, but that did not go well. So we loaded everyone into one boat and hit the water. We spent most of the day out and made it back just in time to avoid some rain. For dinner, they went all out: giant steaks (grilled or skillet), shrimp, potato salad, and vegetables... yummy 😋. In the morning, We packed up and headed back to Houston. We came back through some rain, which washed the salt out of the motor. I took off and luckily made it back in time for the pool party to hang out with friends I haven't seen in a while. It was such a great time, not only spending time with my brother but also catching up with old friends and making new ones. I'm looking forward to seeing you all again..
