I wasn’t planning to film in Dunedin North (North Dunedin) at first, but after my long bus ride from Invercargill, I decided to take things slowly and wander through the northern end of the city. I’m so glad I did. The moment I saw the University of Otago Clock Tower Building, I knew I had to include it. It’s such a striking piece of architecture, and the whole area has a really warm university feel.

Dunedin North sits on the traditional lands of Ngāi Tahu, and the wider city is traditionally known as Ōtepoti. It was a lovely place to start settling into Dunedin before diving into the rest of my filming.
