BR Diesel Brake Tender

This video reviews and runs the Dapol BR Diesel brake tender.
The model is exclusive to Key Publishing and really fills a gap for transition modelers like myself.

While diesel traction had more power the locomotives were generally lighter and this posed a problem for slowing and stopping heavy unfitted trains!

Most freight trains were unfitted, i.e. had no automatic brakes on any of the vehicles relying solely on the locomotive brakes and guards van to slow and stop the train. These brake tenders gave the diesel locos the required brake force.
