1 - Welcome and Keynote: Financing a Future For All - OPEC Fund Development Forum 2023

The development finance community has proven to be a critical and steadfast partner to developing countries worldwide: supporting national development aspirations and reducing poverty, fostering economic development and building sustainable infrastructure over decades. Current global challenges, including the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, acute food insecurity, a looming debt crisis and the deepening threats of climate change are exerting increasing pressure on established support mechanisms and raising valid questions about the efficacy, resilience and equity of the global development finance model itself. Our keynote speaker will set the scene, providing a high-level perspective on challenges currently faced by individual countries and regions as well as the global development community at large, before outlining possible solutions of a collaborative or innovative nature.
