This is RapidfireTV.com and I’m going to show you the Sony FDR-X3000 Action Camera. I decided not to buy the live view remote and use the app on my phone instead.
This video is split into 4 parts so feel free to skip ahead.
Here’s the unboxing, there’s not much included, you do get a waterproof case that’s good for nearly 200’ underwater.
All you need is a micro sd card or memory stick micro to start recording.
Look for at least a U3 Class 10 card, 64 gb is a good size.
You get a standard tripod mount, which fits a broad range of accessories. Also on the bottom is the button to open the case.
And there’s the power button, lock for power button, menu button and arrow buttons.
You also get a Sony attachment buckle. Also included is a USB micro cable, but does not include a wall adapter.
It comes with a battery but you may want to pick up a spare or two.
And lastly you get an instruction manual and a 1 year warranty.
Part 2 we’ll be setting up your camera. Press the release button on the bottom of the case and take out your camera.
Press the release button and open up the battery cover.
This is the wifi scanner to connect your camera to your smartphone.
Insert the battery.
Charge the battery with a wall charger to charge it in half the time.
Your camera will illuminate yellow when it’s charging. The light turns off when it is fully charged.
Set the date/time. Use the “PlayMemories Mobile” app from the app store (both droid and apple).
Here are my recommended settings if you are a consumer or in a hurry.
This time I put the Gopro with the protune on, and the sony in the neutral setting.
The Sony has more neutral colors and looks more natural.
So which camera should you pick? If budget is important, then I’d go with the GoPro Hero 3+ or 4 Black. If you need the best image quality, then I’d go with the Sony. If you like GoPros and have a lot of accessories already, then I’d get the GoPro Hero 5 Black.
We hope you’ve enjoyed this video. If you found this video helpful, please give us a thumbs up and subscribe!
