Wow! Really surprised to get this one. I've had quite a few near misses with OcR since getting it the first time, so I knew it was coming sooner or later. However I barely practiced in the month leading up to this comp, and then my derust attempts went pretty poorly, so I went in with zero expectations.
Somehow it turned out great though! Even though I felt like I was going slowly and carefully the whole time, I ended up with surprisingly fast memo. That left me lots of time for exec - which was good, because when I'm rusty I'm particularly prone to making silly mistakes. I actually felt all 3 mistakes that I made in this attempt, so was expecting at least a handful more, but somehow that was it.
Really amazing to finally break into the top 10 as well! This ranks me 9th in the world currently, which is super exciting with Worlds just around the corner.
Also this felt like it might've been a fluke attempt; but this was a two attempt comp and somehow I got 50/54 on the second attempt while timing out on the very last alg! Was about half a second from beating OcR again, that time with 48 points. A little frustrating to miss it by that little, but getting two great attempts back to back despite the rust is a great confidence booster!

41:29 memo (46.96/cube - definitely good for a rusty attempt!)
17:34 exec (19.89/cube - pretty slow for me usually, but I knew I had lots of time so was going as safe as I could)
