Andersen Weight Distribution Hitch -Straightening Triangle plate (quick fix)

Is the triangle plate on your Andersen WD Hitch at a little bit of an angle? No problem - here's how to quickly straighten it.

NOTE: DO NOT TRY TO STRAIGHTEN THE PLATE WITH FORCE (i.e. hitting it with a hammer)! The plate and ball are NOT meant to be turned by hand or by any striking force, only by the weight of the trailer as it turns.

Sometimes (depending on how you parked and unhooked from your trailer) your triangle plate may be at an angle when you hook it back up. If the angle isn't much and you can hook the plate to the ball with both chains attached, then there's nothing more to do but hook your WD Hitch back up the way it was (follow the instructions in the installation manual if needed). Make sure the bolt threads on both sides are the same. The triangle plate will simply straighten itself out as you drive.

If the triangle plate can't be attached to the ball (while the chains are attached) because it needs to be pinned at an angle, follow one of the two quick-fix methods in the video.
