We bought a Silvercrest kitchen radio from LIDL. It lacked audio output connectors or a proper aerial connector, so let's upgrade it. Also let's see what makes this thing work and how they got the cost so low.
UPDATES: The antenna input to the PCB has an empty land for a diode to be fitted to protect against voltage from the aerial cable. I suspect this would be two diodes back to back, so shunting voltage of either polarity over about 0.6V. If doing this external antenna modification you may like to consider putting diodes between ground and antenna, both ways round.
It's been pointed out that the DC block arrangement will roll off the bass a bit early, so raising the attenuator resistor values to about 1k would be a good idea. Part 2 of this video explains it:    • DAB radio modifications part 2.  LIDL...
