This month we took a look at the various modifications to the Doping Control Process, including for athletes with a disability. Covering the Doping Control Process as a whole, we outlined the specific rights and responsibilities that athletes with a disability have and turned the spotlight to the resulting modifications during the process.

With the Paralympic Games just weeks away, this webinar comes as a timely reminder for athletes, athlete support personnel, International Federations, National Paralympic Committees and Doping Control Officers going to Tokyo 2020 or those involved in supporting elite athletes with a disability.

We were delighted to welcome guest speaker James Sclater, the IPC Anti-Doping Director. James took us through these key points and introduce us to the IPC’s new guide covering accessible testing. We also welcomed Richard Driscoll, ITA IDCO Trainer and member of the European Athletics Medical and Anti-Doping Commission. Our athlete guest was Tony Walby, Athlete Director of the Canadian Paralympic Committee. As a 12-time Canadian medallist in sighted judo and a Paralympian, Tony shared his experience of the doping control process and provided his top tips to athletes, athlete support personnel and doping control officers.

Additionally, we addressed some of the FAQs we received regarding Doping Control, and our guest speakers were also on hand to answer live questions at the end of the session.
