Pasco County Utilities customers often ask us, "Why are you wasting all that water?" Short answer: We're not!

You might have noticed fire hydrant or water valve flushing throughout Pasco County. In this short video, Water Quality Supervisor Kevin Jenkins explains the process of water flushing and how it keeps your drinking water safe.

The process rids water of the following:
- Impurities
- Sediment
- Biologic Growth

Water flushing is an important part of the process to keep your water clean. Each year, Jenkins and his team check over 122,000 connections to make sure Pasco County's water is of the highest quality.
