Trump shows absolutely zero respect for American history, the people of this country, the Constitution, or even the laws he's supposed to uphold.

The Kennedy family is rightfully steaming over Trump's name being slapped onto that building, like, who needs Congressional approval when you've got a squad of butt-kissing sycophants ready to roll out the red carpet? Because nothing screams "presidential legacy" like a self-aggrandizing ego trip. 😠

In February 2025, President Trump orchestrated a brazen overhaul of the Kennedy Center's Board of Trustees, firing a slew of holdovers, mostly from Biden and prior Democratic administrations, and packing it with 14 handpicked loyalists, including himself as chairman. Gone was the longstanding bipartisan tradition, where the 36 appointed general trustees were evenly split between Republicans and Democrats to keep things deliciously nonpartisan. Now? It's a full-on Trump echo chamber, stacked exclusively with allies and sycophants, turning what was once a balanced board into a one-sided fan club.

Around the same time, the center quietly scrubbed mentions of DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) initiatives from its website, because nothing says "Golden Age of Arts" like ditching that pesky inclusivity stuff to align with the administration's vibes.

In summary, while gender balance somehow hangs on for dear life, these moves gutted the board's political diversity (shocking, I know) and took a swipe at racial/ethnic variety too. Artists, ex-board members, and onlookers are understandably freaking out over the institution's pivot from its proudly bipartisan, inclusive roots to... well, whatever this is.

Tradition? Meet the wrecking ball.
