How does one balance empirical and numerical methods for evaluation and seismic retrofit? The International Scientific Committee on the Analysis and Restoration of Structures of Architectural Heritage (ISCARSAH) hosts an inter-ISC discussion on understanding traditional technology and craftsmanship with case studies where contemporary interventions can be informed by knowledge, skills and experience from traditional construction.
