Bark Beetles Part 1 Intro

Описание к видео Bark Beetles Part 1 Intro

Promoting tree health and resilience is the best way to prevent attacks from forest insect pests such as bark beetles but early diagnosis of bark beetle attack can aid in mitigation of damage. Planting appropriate tree species in suitable sites and reducing density and competition within the stand goes a long way to ensure trees are healthy enough to resist or tolerate pests.

This video is an introduction to diagnosing bark beetle attacks in Oregon forests and is part of a 3-part bark beetle video series that includes diagnosis of bark beetles specific to Douglas-fir, true fir and pine. Other videos in the Oregon forest insect pest series include sections on woodborers, defoliators, and sap-sucking insects, as well as abiotic stressors.
