UEM's Izani moving to MAHB?

UEM Group Bhd's current MD Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani is tipped to be the next MD of MAHB, people familiar with the matter told Business Times.

Sources say his appointment could be announced as early as this week with the departure of the airport operators' acting GCEO.

It is understood that Mohamed Rastam Shahrom, who took on the GCEO role in October 2023, will be leaving to take up a role at RHB Bank Bhd.

Mohd Izani was a member of MAHB's board for eight years until 2019, as part of his role as Khazanah Nasional Bhd's executive director of investments.

Khazanah and EPF are looking to take the airport operator private for RM11 a share.

MAHB manages 39 airports, including Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 and 2.
