Casio CZ-1 digital fatness

Описание к видео Casio CZ-1 digital fatness

The CZ series is a family of low-cost phase distortion synthesizers produced by Casio in the mid-1980s. It can sound very metallic but also fat analogue, almost like an American 80ies synth. It’s perfect for fat bass sounds. I played a lot of those in this demo.

The CZ-1 in this demo is most advanced Synthesizer in the CZ series. It doubled the memory, was multitimbral, also stored splits and layers as "Operation Memories", and added velocity and aftertouch sensitivity to the keyboard, along with programming parameters to control how velocity and aftertouch pressure would affect the sound. It features three modes 'normal' (1 tone 16 voice), 'tone mix' and 'key split' (2 tones with 8 voices each). In the 2 tone modes the chorus setting controls which tone goes to which of the left and right output channels.

This demo was recorded live and I only used single sounds, no overdubbing also. I didnt use any fx and mastering (only the internal chorus). Just pure, dry and raw.

I played lots of FM like bass sounds, PPG like bells, some fat brass sounds and also crazy stuff.

I hope you enjoy the video. Thanks for watching.
