Venezuela: 3 Americans Arrested over Alleged Plot to Assassinate Nicolas Maduro | Firstpost America

The Venezuelan government has announced arrests of three Americans, two Spaniards and one Czech Republic citizen for allegedly plotting to kill President Nicolas Maduro. The government said it also seized around 400 rifles, which were about to be used to overthrow the Maduro government and kill its top leaders. Venezuela claimed the alleged plot was led by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). However, the United States has denied these accusations, saying they were categorically false. Washington said one of the arrested Americans is a former US Navy Seal. Spain has also denied its involvement in the alleged assassination plot.
