This session explored key priority areas for the NFP Network over the next two years, including inter alia, the Debt Sustainability Support Service, Oceans and the BBNJ

Agreement, the SIDS Center of Excellence, and digitalization. The discussions also focused on integrating the NFPs’ work plan with the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) process to ensure synergies with SDG implementation. Particular emphasis was placed on supporting SIDS in their preparations for Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs), ensuring a strong alignment with the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS).

In the second part of the session, participants explored how to localize these focus areas, guided by the Engagement Strategy. the National Focal Points (NFPs) shared best practices, discuss capacity building, and identify opportunities for engagement at international meetings and other processes. It was also an opportunity to hold discussions on how the United Nations system can support this approach to the VNR process, at all levels.
