Nielsen Canto Serioso

Описание к видео Nielsen Canto Serioso

Carl Nielsen´s Canto Serioso is another rarity for horn and piano. The nameless piece was composed between 1908 and 1914, during Nielsen’s time as conductor at the Copenhagen opera and was meant as an audition-piece for low horn. It was never meant to be published and the manuscript was kept in an archive until 1944, when it was printed and published under the name Canto Serioso. In northern Europe, it is sometimes still used as piece for low horn auditions!
Paul van Zelm – French horn
Zeynep Artun-Kircher - piano
Mischa Salevic – recording and production
