The Victorian high country has received one of the biggest rain pours in history, re-named a rain bomb. We received 160mm of rain over a few hours, but with the catchment of the surrounding area, it was difficult to control. The swales worked perfectly as designed, holding up the rain and run off to slow the movement of the water, preventing damage and erosion. Some other areas around the farm not too well, and shows us where our planning needs to be focused in the event of another rain bomb. Exciting times ahead at FCTF, the swales are full slowly soaking into the ground preparing us well for the summer months ahead.
