Vintage Views & Tunes explores SURVEY: Antony Gormley, the first major museum survey of the celebrated British artist in the United States, presented at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas. Spanning more than 45 years of work—from experimental pieces of the early 1980s to the present—this landmark exhibition investigates, in Gormley’s words, “what sculpture is and what it can do.”
On view from September 13, 2025 to January 4, 2026, the exhibition traces the evolution of Antony Gormley’s practice through sculptures, installations, and models that explore the relationship between the human body, space, light, and perception. Gormley’s works engage the Nasher’s light-filled architecture, activating both interior galleries and the outdoor sculpture garden.
A major highlight of SURVEY is a new site-specific public art project debuting across rooftops of skyscrapers in and around Downtown Dallas. Created specifically for this exhibition, stainless-steel sculptures are installed high above the city, set against the brilliant Texas sky, extending the Nasher experience into the broader Dallas Arts District.
To provide global context, the exhibition also features studio models from more than 60 large-scale international projects, including the iconic Angel of the North (1998), alongside the artist’s workbooks carried continuously since the 1970s.
Vintage Views & Tunes offers a cinematic perspective on one of the most influential sculptors of our time, where sculpture becomes a physical and poetic dialogue between the artwork, the viewer, and the city itself.
