The Supreme Court has refused to stay the Waqf Amendment Act but put a hold on certain provisions of the existing Waqf Act. The court stayed the controversial five-year clause in Islam provision and suspended restrictions on the number of non-Muslims allowed on Waqf boards. The matter will now be heard in detail in the next session.
